Don't ever back into your driveway carelessly. [Pics]

I can't even explain how pissed i am about this. I've had my G for only about two weeks or so now.

I came home the other night, late...very late from my girlfriend's house, tired as all hell and wasn't even thinking at all and backed up into my driveway rather carelessly and scraped my back bumper on the side of my brick planters i have on the side of my house.

Worst of all, i got an estimate from a local body shop yesterday of $829.34. Holy ****. I guess my piggy bank for some HRE's will take a major hit.

Moral of the story.....drive carefully. I never imagined i'd damage my car backing into my own ****ing driveway.

ouch...sorry that happened man...

g4s Mar 27, 2005 03:36 PM

er, why dont you just spend 60-70 on some rear splash gaurds. it should cover up the damage, or at least the majority of it.

DiamondG350GT Mar 27, 2005 03:40 PM

you might get away by putting the OEM mudgaurds on :D

Ditto!

Hmmmm OEM rear splash gaurds? I didn't even consider that...

Anywhere online i can purchase them? Or should i just head to the dealership?

Thanks for the replies everyone. Appreciated.

RacerB355 Mar 27, 2005 03:51 PM

hey don't feel bad, i did the same exact thing except that i have the mud flaps so i scratched the mud flaps, not the bumper, i got lucky i had the mud flaps

ashadiow Mar 27, 2005 04:00 PM

Or just look into a rear lip spoiler, and it will definately cover it up.

madchef Mar 27, 2005 07:49 PM

That stinks! Sorry to hear about it man...

I say pay the money, and get it fixed the right way.

You just got your car, and you won't be happy knowing the "blemish" is always there. Think long term :)

accordfreak Mar 27, 2005 08:09 PM

i say get the mudflaps.

Insurance???

Nicholas GQ Mar 27, 2005 08:33 PM

I've considered insurance......but i dont think it'd really be worth it considering i may have to pay a deductible and possibly have my rates higher.

And besides, I'm 19, living at home, on my parent's insurance so i'd rather not involve them in this matter considering all they will do is bitch to me about the situation which i already realize lol. So i decided i'm going to handle this on my own.

I see. Well, good luck in any case.

Nich,

Don't get too upset. I call this the new car syndrome. 2 weeks in to getting my S4, someone backed in to me and didn't leave a note. With my new G, I was backing out and bumped it slightly into my company's parking garage..... . I just try to laugh it away and call it "christening the new car" :).

Thanks for the insight, suggestions and kind words from all of you. It's greatly appreaciated.

I think i'm ultimately going to order some front and rear splash guards for my car in hopes that the majority of the damage can be covered up.

Plus i like the look of the splash guards and i think it'll make my car look a whole lot better than its current state :
