dyno'd car for 1st time

I dyno'd my car today at rev tech, and was pretty surprised all i have is a z-tude and pop charger (engine wise). I was expecting 233 hp but got 240hp/233.9tq instead but im not complaining. It was $45 for 3 pulls and 75 with a/f i decide i just want to see how much power i had before i did any other mod so i just did the 3 pulls with no a/f.

Car was dyno'd on a dynojet.

Anyone esle know what stock 03 g35 6mt gets?

Sounds about right for the 6spd I think...Good run. Have you been to the track?

ted17 Apr 3, 2005 03:40 AM

Yes, i have i ran best time was 14.3 at MIR. Wishing i to hit 14.1 this spring/summer l that would be awsome. But i really want to track the car at the summit point again, wish they gave lap times.

But you ran a 14.2 thats awsome man what rpm do you launch at?

DiamondG Apr 3, 2005 06:19 AM

259.1 hp/254.7 tq BONE STOCK on a Dynapack :D

Sickone Apr 3, 2005 02:31 PM

diamondG it's hard enough to compare dyno numbers, but a dyno pack with wheel removed would offer a number about ~20hp higher than a dynojet, so that's about right. Also you need to make sure it SAE corrected.

It is really about comparrisons, so you have to compare apples to apples...
Same dyno, same day, same conditions against other cars to see how you are doing

Reason i choose the dnyo jet was because i felt that having the weight of the tires and rims would be more accurate to me because i wanna know how much im putting down to the wheels when in drving around lol. As to just driving around on hubs lol.

But what ever works right heheehhe

But dam 259 to 254 sounds dam good diamond G.

I brake torque to around 1200 ;) It was very cold that day and because of all the street cars on the track it was dusty at the line and no one was geting traction!

^ what was your 60ft

scoobybri Apr 3, 2005 06:06 PM

My best time for my bone stock 2005 6MT coupe was 14.73 at 96.37MPH. Using the NHRA elevation correction tables (LVMS is at 2200 ft. above sea level), at sea level I supposedly would have run a 14.35 at 98.89MPH. Pretty good stock. I probably could get a better time with practice. It was the first time I had ever run at a track. 60 ft. on that run was 2.31.

Just got it dynoed as well. 245.31 HP and 222.42 ft/lbs. torque, SAE corrected.

You say you got no traction, but a 2.243 isn't a bad 60ft....better than I got, you lead to believe that you got like a 2.4 or so and that you could of ran a 13.9.

60ft measures just that, how long it takes you to get to 60ft...you can usually measure how good of a launch you got from that.

Vic Apr 3, 2005 07:16 PM

I see.. thanks ChazM for the info.

Yeah, I drive an auto. Brake torquing is holding the brake down hard and pushing the gas alittle to load to torque converter.
Overall I had no traction, Many of my times consisted of high 14s and even a 15. I would have the car in Drive and still bounce off the rev limiter in 1st because it was so bad. The problem was probably due to so many street cars being there bringing dust and such onto the track. Right before I ran a bike hand busted a chain and sent stuff flying all over the track and they had to clean/prep it again and thats when I got my best time.
Whats more interresting is that my friend in his 100% stock 350z got a 13.4 with a 1.6 60'...everyones jaw dropped and the ones that werent there to whitness call total BS. But all of his other runs were around a 13.9....he couldnt do it again - he ran right after me.....
