Launch (I know It's Been Gone Over B4)

Ok After attempting a launch in my G I ralized that I really need to learn to launch this car. It was a bad scene. I think I spun the tires and bounced off the revlimiter a few times, Not a pretty site. Now mind you Im uused to launching the S2000 which you drop and ishe just goes. Not the case for the G Im not used to all this low end tourqe and bigger car. Does anyone have any tips that will keep me from embarassing myself again? Pretty soon Im gonna have to run my Friends GTI 337 thats modded. i know I'll eat it alive but not if I cant launch. I might go to the track at some point too so a proper launch would be nice. Damn those Hondas, now Im accustomed to them and not a real car! Im sure this will all change soon however. Oh and the VDC in this car is awsome in the rain. But not when your trying to run that GTI, Though it was off.......Yeah I lost. LoL the car is broken in now I just have to be!

It's not easy to effectively launch this car dumping the clutch at anything higher than 2500 RPMs. I usually launch around 2000-2500 RPMs otherwise there's just too much wheelspin.

LoL yeah thats an understatement!! Think on my first launch I ended up doing a smoke show instead! To bad i didnt have it taped I know someone wanted me to do one at some point.

You are supposed to launch at 2500rpm. I have read the reason for this is there is some other special flywheel thingamaboby that engages at this rpm.......I've tried and that is the best place for me to launch at. 6mt Do some research.

Try to keep it between 2500&3000 rpm i havealso spun tires but i reallly had to find the sweet spot .....Have you tried turning off your VDC?

gumpdriver, you have to turn off VDC when racing, otherwise it will take like 2 seconds off your time for 0-60, not a good thing.
Launch at 4,000 if you want a squeal-show, launch higher if you want a smoke-show
Launch at 2,500 if you want to minimize both of those and maximize acceleration, i usually dont drop the clutch but rather feather it back until its fully engaged, takes about a second to do

Yeah I have to get used to it. With all this rain It's not gonna happen any time soon however. 2000-2500 should do the trick. just have to get used to letting the clutch go I'm to afraid im gonna burn it right now. This is my first NEW clutch and I wanna keep it that way but I guess it's gonna have to take a beating sooner or later huh. Well Guess Ill just have to practice.

I've got an AT coupe and I launch it pretty well in manumatic mode. The ideal launch is around 2750 rpm. What i do is get it up to 3k and let it fall down to 2750 (which takes a nanosecond) then proceed to victory :p

Do you switch off the VDC? If so do you get much wheelspin?

I normally launch around 1900 RPMs or so. This minimizes my wheel spin. You want to chirp your tires, not spin them. Don't dump your clutch.
