What's a fair price to pay for a 05 G35 coupe?

I'm curious what I should expect to pay for a '05 G35 coupe? Is it around MSRP, below, or above? What's a fair price to pay (Bay area people)

limeg35 May 11, 2005 02:17 PM

Bay area? you mane San francisco area?....I got an 05's last sunday, its 5AT prem, with 19's for 34518, which is close to 2700 below MSRP ;) if you are looking for 6 speed? it should around 1500~2000 off

To get that price, you might have to go to few dealership (went to two and 5 two years ago) and say no few hundren times :D :D :D

The best quote i got last month was $34,800 for a 05 6MT with premium package. (About $1600 off). The supply is so low and demand so high on the 6MT's in the bay, that it is hard to deal.

ChemEngr May 11, 2005 04:13 PM

How bad do you want a 6MT? I wanted one badly, so I ordered it. Dealers in the Bay Area don't even try to sell them. There is never more than two in a lot and they're gone in a couple days. I got mine for $1500 off MSRP - not the best deal but I'm happy. Infiniti just doesn't manufacture them in large quantities. 5AT on the other hand, you can wheel & deal - plenty to choose from.

I'm looking for a 6MT, just my luck :(. Thanks for the info though.

Hi guys. Nice thread since it's perfect for my situation.

If I get a G, the following are things I really want:

-6mt
-ivory pearl
-19" oem sports rims

Is it hard to get these options and still get a decent price? What am I looking at OTD? Edmunds.com TMV sticks to msrp which I know isn't true.

Well i got my DG 6mt fully loaded(nav, prem, splash) but no aero a month ago at pennisula infiniti. After a few hundred no's and stuff later we were able to get the car for 35,9XX before taxes. The msrp on the car was 38,8XX or something. Keep in mind we were there for 2 hours. We were about to walk out with now car cause the monthly they gave us was 5 dollers over what we wanted to pay. Got to the door and they decided to give it to us. You really have to know what you want. They will try to take every penny you have.

BTW, adding to what that one guy said. Its true most dealership only have like 2 6mt's at the lot.

has anyone ever dealt with internet sales managers? I remember when I was about to buy an Acura TL last year, I dealt with the internet mgr and he gave me up front prices with no hassles. It was a very good price too.

But then again a TL isn't such a high demand car.

I did, so i thought, first of all, I wasnt planning on stop by at pennisula infiniti start with, but when I try for an pre-approved loan form Infifnti? they send my info to Pennisula, so this so called ineternet sale manager Brian Fortune contaced me, so i thought it couldnt hurt just went in and talk to him right? boy was i WRONG :( , I e-mail him saying that if they still put the lo-jack and some type of paint and interior crab on? He asure me that they will not, But when i went in and decide to talk about the price? not only he didnt take a single cent off the MSRP, they still puts on around 2300 bucks of almost worthless crab on it :( , so i was saying to myself, that i will not buy a car from them unless they offer me an great price, but two hours later, i was driving an new G home :D :D :D

If you going to stop by at Pennisula? talk to Sam Wong, I think he is suppose to be an "closer", so you can by-pass all the crab.

I would've perferr to deal with Emil form Marin Infiniti, he will give you No B.S., It was my second stop that day ;)

Use the Edmunds and carsdirect only as referance, I use them to get the MSRP and invoice price, just be ready to say no and walk, be sure to keep you srating price low, you can always go up from it but not down. would help, if you can get an pre-approved loan so you know what APRs you are at and try to get them to lock in an lower rate than that, but dont tell them first that if you are pre- approved, they always try to make it sound like you cant get low APR because....heck just because    , at Pennisula they try to tell me that i have something bad on my credit report? But how come I didnt have problem two years ago? when i told them that i was pre-approved form Infiniti? they start to sing to an different tunes ;) watch every step...

wow, you did get a good price over at peninsula. did they still add on the 3k worth of stuff they add on to every car there(solarshield, lojack, etc)? when i went two months ago, they wasted my time bs'ing me with extras, monthly payments, apr, etc. the guy only focused on how much i was willing to pay monthly and wouldnt tell me the exact price i was going to pay nor the apr, until i calculated it out on my own. he even tried selling me a different color. i ended up walking out after two hours and ordering mine through pleasanton.

for some reason, bay area dealerships only seem to hold 2 6mt's on the lot, but my friends on the east coast tell me they see 6mt's all over the dealerships. not sure how infiniti is allocating their cars or if bay area dealerships are only ordering 2 at a time in order to charge higher prices.

eddie269 May 15, 2005 06:25 PM

OK, I just got my "special internet price" for the G35 from Niello's. tell me what you think. (I personally think this is a lot)

2005 IP ext/Stone int
-6MT
-Prem Package
-Navi system
-aero package w/rear spoiler
-trunk mats

MSRP on edmunds.com: $39,710
MSRP on Niello's website: $38,830 (why it's lower, I have no idea)
Invoice on edmunds.com: $36,221

My "special internet" price: $38,084 plus tax/lic. which is around $1850 over invoice,

Looks like it will cost $41,1xx OTD.

Does this sound a little high? The thing is, this EXACT color combo/options/6MT is EXACTLY what I want. If I ordered the car from scratch, this is exactly how I would've done it. Kinda surprised I found one like this in stock.

Opinions please. =)

xxpolo47xx May 15, 2005 06:55 PM

eddie, That is not a bad price but i bet you can probably get it to 40,5XX OTD or even lower by going there. depends on how good of a talker you are. :D

kalakas, actually they did try to get me to switch to another car with a bunch of that crap but my feets were planted. Yea, actually we focused on what i would pay monthly too. Good thing me and my dad could calculate all that stuff in our head so we always knew how much we were paying if they adding stuff. Also, they kept trying to get us to go 66 months.. and 72 months so we also knew how much more of a difference going 66 months was. We were like 60 months and thats it. Actually the sales people aren't that bad, that manager making the decisions are the pain in the you know what.

Got a question, why does everyone hate lojack or that tracking device thingys? just wondering.
