Black G's How obsessed are you about cleaning the G

Just wondering if there are other Blk G owners who are garage challenged and are obsessed as i am about cleaning their car. :D I usually get up early on a Saturday (7am) and start washing. I usually clean with the quick detailer every Wed. Also, do you find yourself trying to dust the car often? I think i might be going a little mental  Hahaha

i was hella anal the first year i bought it.....
Getting it detailed today!

Inf4life May 11, 2005 02:31 PM

yeah, i have to constantly dust mine off... i usually wash it off at least once a week.... and i take it to get detailed once a month...wash and wax for 40 bucks.... lasts the whole month...i pay someone cause i'm lazy.....lol

Sorry I don't own an Black G but, yes I very obsessed about cleaning my IP. Wash my car at least twice a week (sometimes it's just an quick wash and wipe down at the local do-it-yourself carwash). Wax about once every other month.

not obsessed at all... but that doesnt mean its always dirty.

i wash her once a week, which is normal for me

oh, and the 05's dont brake dust as much as the previous

One word answer to your question: VERY

i don't have black but twilight blue. The california duster works wonders for a couple weeks without washing.. My paint will still be pretty slick.

HooperX May 11, 2005 04:42 PM

Right now I wash it once a week. Don't have the facilities to wax and such, which is probably good cause I think it's a downward spiral trying to keep the Black G clean :-). I'm trying to convince myself that it will only be shiny during the daytime for a couple of days (though it still looks awesome at night, even when dirty).

If I could do it over again, I'd get DG in a heartbeat.

I was so anal about my black celica that on more than one occasion if it rained after I washed my car I woulndt go to work cause I didnt want to get her dirty (i was a unix admin contractor for the govt so i passed up alot of money for that day)

truplay8 May 11, 2005 05:50 PM

I HATE BLACK!!!!!! it is impossible to not be dusty

I love my black coupe, i just use the california duster every time i get the chance, and i wash once a week

I am extremely anal about cleaning my black G. Even though it's garage kept, I wash once a week (Saturday normally), cali dust it every night, and speed shine it twice a week between washes. Still after all of that work it manages to get dirty from pollen or dirt in general. You ask if all that hard work is worth it.... ***K YA!!!, Black is so rewarding when it's spotless, and looking perfect.

i have a IP coupe and i wash her twice a week and use quick detailer after every wash! wax once a month and spend 2 1/2 hrs on her.

I like most of you also go nutz when my black G is not clean. Unfortunately, I have been really busy and have been sad for sometime b/c my G is really dirty. When I do have to time tho I wash once a week ( car is in the garage) and wax whenever I can. Eventhough it's a pain to keep clean the G looks to damn good in black....

Long live The Dark Knight....

I was ridiculous about it the first month I had mine. It had some minor spider webbing and swirl marks and i would just obssess about those and let em ruin my day. I'm slowly getting over it though, and of course, Z-5 helps me cope with the problem by covering up those swirl marks and spider webs :) .
