C's Short Shifter for G35C

Does anyone know if the company C's makes a short shifter for the G35C 6MT?

Diesel1 Jun 17, 2005 12:38 PM

To my knowledge there ar eonly a few that make aftermarket shifters for the G's n Z's.

B&M - heard of a few complaints
Nismo Adjustable Throw/Height - $$$ don't know of anyone who has it
EBAY has a couple I don't knwo the brand names of
ROGUE Engineering - I bought one but haven't installed it yet. I have never heard anyone find any faults, improvement over stock and 20% shorter throw. One person switch from B&M to RE and wrote a review. Basically RE is supposeldy the shiznit!

They do....or rather did. I was working on the U.S. webpage for C's when they went out of business. :( They have been owned by 2-3 different companies in Japan and just can't seem to stay alive. (which sucks cause their shifters are the best I've ever used)

If you want to see the remnents of the website, it's here:

(keep in mind, it was only a basic design and not finished)

Model Chassis No. Part No. Retail Price
350 Z Z33 111151 $480

I love C's Short Shifters, I've had one for my Honda Civic Hatchback with a B20B VTEC Engine swap and I noticed the solid short and smooth shifting. Best $300 I've spent on that car.

Do you guys think that it will fit on the G35 setup? It should because the mounting holes and attachments should all be the same between the G and the Z, let me know what you guys think? I'll be willing for course to write up a full review for all the view. Thanks in advance.

I just installed my Rogue shifter which came with instructions for the Z, so if it fits the Z it will fit the G. Everything should be the same, fairly simple install!

this may sound like a noob question but.....what exactly does a short shifter accomplish...can u "install" it on both AT and MT!! :)

Diesel1 Jun 18, 2005 04:31 PM

The shifters are just for MT's. Typically they reduce the throw, meaning the distance the actual stick must travel from 1 gear to the next. Shorter distance = faster shifts. They also provide more feel of gear engagement. I just took mine for a ride with the new shifter and I love it! feels nice n tight. Very positive gear engagements!

Thanks for your inputs everyone I think I'm gonna go ahead and buy a C's Short Shifter for the G and see what kind of good things can come from it. :D

i love C's.. It worked the best out of all the short shifters i've tried on my honda. it was well worth the price.

TOPSECRET2001 Jun 20, 2005 06:41 PM

I just got word from Japan that C's is go again. That price is still valid. E-mail roo@topsecretjpn.com to order. I asked about the Z33 fitting the V35 but they couldn't tell me if it was the same because they haven't tried it themselves. I've seen both cars with interior stripped down before and my guess is it will work.

I should also note, I've used several different shortshifters on several different vehicles and C's definatly has the best feel. I don't know how to describe it but alot of the other shifters out there are either too stiff or give the car an unnatural feeling whereas the C's shortens the shift and gives the car a better feeling.

Yes, thank you very much for you comment on the C's shifter. I was looking for someone who knows it's whereabouts. Honestly, I've tried B&M, SKUNK2, Ricer Shifters, and various other ones, But C's was the best, they do years of research in order to put out products like theirs'.

Yeah, it seems like such a simple piece but when you drive with it, you definatly notice the quality and precision.
