Question about our G's ideal Idle rpms before driving

I have been wondering how long some of you let your car warm up before driving it. My car seems to starting to idle at 1500 rmps and I usually wait till it gets down to 1000 before I start driving. Are there any recommendations from the factory or personal experience that leads you to believe you should wait until _____. Thanks

You don't need to wait at all if within operation temperature of -40C and +85C.
That's the automotive standard...some parts have deviations case by case,
but I don't think you're in the extreme temps, are you?

I just fire her up, back out the garage within 10sec.

I wait 5 sec... enough to put on the seat belt and I am gone....

Drive it right away. Just don't horse it 'til she's warmed.
In the winter if it's cold where you are, let it warm for a minute or so then drive.

In the winter, I wait about 20minutes after starting the car (I wait in my house). Not for the car's sake, but so I don't freeze to death before the heat kicks in (gets to -40F here in January).

In the summer, I just go...

I wait for the meter to hit the --C line before I start on a slow 30mph road for about a mile.

I start to drive once the oil temp needle start moving up.

I wait till the RPM reachs ~1000 then off I go! ... not fast, of course.

I wait until the top of the needle is below the 1K line.. meanwhile i dust the car with a cali duster.. then i drive like a granny shifting at 2.5K for a good 10-15 minutes... the oil takes about 3 times longer to warm up than the coolant does.. so don't think that once the temp guage is at it's normal spot that you can stomp on it just yet...

10-15 minutes is probably over kill of granny driving.. but i would much rather be safe than sorry.
