Couldn't shake a Hemi RT

Got into it with a Hemi RT, the station wagon thing.. I was in 3rd gear at about 60mph and we got on it till a little over 100. I barely pulled.. I mean inches the whole time. I was pulling, but it was like a snail crawling past his car. I didn't think those were so quick. My 6mt is stock, 04. But I didn't think that big wagon had soo much go...

340 hp, 390 lb-ft of torque... they're pretty quick.

Straight line will be closer than you think, but when the road gets curvy, it's another story.

If you think that's fast wait thil you get in to it with it's SRT big brother. 425hp!!! The 300, Magnum all have it. 0-60 suposidly 5 seconds. That's great seeing how heavy those cars are.

JuicedAthletics Sep 17, 2005 09:25 AM

yea it was a very close run... we were neckn' neck from 60-80 I had about 5 ft then i shifted lost about 3 ft of that and gained another couple ft by 100. Didnt want to risk anything so i shut down a little in front of him. But i mean it was a frustrating race... get it over with... someone pull ahead...!!!!!!

Save up like 7K and drop in a ST, then go race, see who wins :)

I drove one while I was shopping for the G. Very powerful car. With a few mods I'm sure it could be a real beast.

Lots of pieces are from the Mercedes E Class. It was actually a pretty nice car. I couldn't bring myself to buy a wagon. Dunno why.

I personally think the car is quite nice... but still no comparison no matter how big the engine is to the G. =)

they are fast, but thats cuz they have to be. That way, you dont get seen by people driving such a crappy car looking like hell!

2nd gear going 60mph? You'll have to explain that one to me cuz I'm kind of slow sometimes. :D

You obviously didn't hear about the mod that will greatly increase the redline on G35s. I agree with Finiti about the mediocre performance of the G35, so I had the mod done. Here are some Infiniti mechanics checking out the mod on my G35 engine on a test bed:

funny. i just went up against a 300c here.

the roads i was driving on were straight for short bits then had bends and were straight again, etc. also, we drive on the opposite side of the road.

anyway i thought the 300c would be so close in competition i didnt even try to pull on him in the straights.. i just trailed him. then we got up to a part with a series of bends, we were both doing 90 or so. i floored it going in (i drive that section a lot - its fun). up to 100 or so things were ok for both of us, i was slowly pulling. By 110-120 i was ahead by a small margin - a few cars- i figured he was slowing down for the turns but wasnt sure. in between bends he couldnt really close the gap. anyway halfway into the next bend i saw the left side of his car start to go off the road  he slowed down a lot after that... at the next open stretch he wanted to race again though... i declined

Its always a good race...I've always pulled from start to finish......but its a snails pull...if you are lax in your shifting...you lose...if you have a passenger and they have a passenger...you will probably lose.....we are more adversly affected by weight than the torque monster.
