Owner's Manuals

I'm really not too sure what this means, but I downloaded the '06 manual this morning. Wanted to read, see the new features, and etc. It seemed awfully large to me, so I thought I'd go back and check out the sizes of earlier manuals. Came up with the following.

'03 manual - 256 pages
'04 manual - 264 pages
'05 manual (original) - No 6MT - 316 pages
'05 manual (Rev 1 - W/6MT) - 326 pages
'06 manual - 344 pages

In a couple years, the darn thing will be too heavy to carry.

I'd like to know just how many owners actually read them cover to cover. I'm thinking not too many.

It's just more people doing stupid stuff and Infiniti having to warn against it.

Like the person with the RV that set the cruise control then went back to cook some eggs. Thought the car would drive itself, wrong...he got into an accident and sued the RV company.

My manual says 2005 Coupe, yet it contains sedan information.

I have to agree with Hooman, and not just because he knows how to spec a car so well.

My father just picked up an new '05 fx35 and the manual was stupidly thick. Granted, these cars now have many features that the manual explains in detail. The issue is that there are more Warnings than instructions. They are pretty easy to pick out because the warnings are in gray boxes, flick through the pages and all you see is gray. It is so bad that he also received a color supplemental manual that explained how to use the features because it is impossible to read the original with the warnings in place. I blame the lawyers.

My favorite warning is not to exceed 85 mph.
