TO ALL VQ HEADS: here's an interesting tidbit...

Cesar Febus of Cesar Oso Racing (Puerto Rico) currently has the fastest ET of 7.67s at 176 mph. He drives a '86 Nissan 300zx that puts down 987hp @ 38 psi of boost...

alright.. to the point, and quote (from Modified Mag):
"... Things will improve since we are in talks with Nissan of North America. We plan to build a new G35 coupe or 350z and run the powerful VQ35DE 3.5L V-6. So the future holds some more wins and a new car for next year..."

end quote.

1000 hp g35 coupe turbo... more aftermarket means.. more performance and more competition.

bring it on fellas!

While I would love to believe it, I don't think there's any chance that our VQ with anything resembling stock internals will handle even 600 HP, let alone 1000. But man, that would be nice...

Oh I'm sure it didn't...but I'm sure many of the old cast-iron block VQs could take a lot more HP than the current VQ35 can.

Come on, of course not much will be stock. But if the Nismo engine can dish out ~450hp N/A, how hard will it be to put down 1000hp with a proper turbo, and how hard will it be to keep it together if the engine is properly put together? Not hard. Anything is possible with money, it might be a VQ35, but it sure as hell won't be anything close to what we have.

Ok dude, so if I understand you correctly, if the engine is turboed, and properly put together, and has a ton of money into it, it won't be hard to keep it together at 1000HP. Thanks for the tip.

Clearly, anything is possible with enough money. But are we gonna see 1000HP any time soon with our Gs? Hell no...but we can dream.

there are lots of R34 GTR sklylines that have 1000hp or more it will not be that hard it probaly will cost a lot and the engine will not last till ur next oil change

Re: TO ALL VQ HEADS: here's an interesting tidbit.

The RB engine in the GTR (or other skylines) is completely different from the VQ engine. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Granted there might be potential in our engines but comparing it against the RB shouldn't be done.
