255/40's or 265/40's on OEM 18's

I know both tires will fit without a problem.. and they are both VERY close to the stock diameter. I believe the 265/40 is closer by .5%. Either way, which size would you choose and why. My buddy has two sets of pilots sports. One off his m3 (255/40) and the other off his clients porsche (265/40) .. I still have about half left on my front pilots..

OEM 18" is 8" wide i believe, and I think you might have trouble fitting the 265 properly.

ive seen a couple guys on this board put 265/40 18 drag radials on their stock wheels...

any other thoughts?
