Dealer said 03's don't have TPS, True or False?
 

My Manual says I have it and I see a "T/P" or something like that (will have to check again) on my dash gauges.

When I took my car in for it's oil change the service guy said my tire pressure was really low on all 4 tires and why I didn't check, and I told him b/c I have a TPS and would have thought they would have come on by now. He said that some models don't have it. He asked the Manger to come over and he said that 03's didn't come with it...

I then said, well why does my manual mention it and why do I have a place on my guages to light up a "T/P" or whatever, and they just blew it off saying that it must be b/c they planned on putting it in later models and just went ahead and "built in" the space for the "T/P" to light up...and said to re-check my manual...

What's the final answer guys????

TPS came on '04s and later models..not '03's. :)

Then why the light on my guage cluster up top???

First batch of 03 G35s ever to come out don't have TPS...(if you don't have a leather center arm console lid...you know who you are.

This car is full of stuff like that.

On the '04 (and '03s) just up and right of the shift lever, there is a rectangle cutout that's really visible on the silver painted console. I'm not really sure what it's for. Also, the doggie door on the '03 sedans is really pointless. (I've heard that it was orignally intended for a rear view camera.)

Besides, it's cheaper to manufacture one part with everything on it (even stuff that may be included but could possibly not be included) than it is to custom make every possible configuration so that the dummy lights match. (Hence why all of the major switches - temp, volume, hazard lights - are on the wrong side of the center console).

Wasn't on either my '03 Sedan nor '03 Coupe.

if you look closely at the gauge cluster on the 04 coupes, theres a light for AWD and what looks like a chassis with the wheels turned. These lights never come on cuz they were intended for the X sedan and infiniti jsut uses the sames gauge cluster for evertyhing cuz its cheaper that way

What I still don't understand:

is that the 03's were the first year of the car, right? So, why put only ONE possible "Future Feature" on the cluster to light up??? Why not think of 10 different things that they could possibly use in the future?

That's just so out of whack to me. I mean it's weird to try and think of things to do in the future, when you could them in the present. LOL...

So are we positive that the 03's don't have TPS?? I mean real sure?

it's all about marketability, if new things don't come out, they will not continue to sell.
