DON'T PAY MSRP ANYMORE

I was asking for help with an '03 coupe about 4-5 days back. Since then I've ordered an '04(auto)black/graph. wheel pkg. and sunroof, at 600 over invoice (yes invoice) and didn't pay doc. and title fees. So I figure 500 over when all is said and done. All I did was bug the dealers in the states around me till someone can back with a good price! Don't pay MSRP anymore YOU CAN DO ALOT BETTER!!!!! Just thought I let you all know!

If you don't mind me asking where did you end up ordering yours?

Re: DON'T PAY MSRP ANYMORE

What was MSRP and how much did you wind up paying?

I find it incredible and not plausible that a dealer would discount a car $2500-3000(depending on the options you got) when they can sell that car all day long at MSRP.

Are you sure you did not purchase a sedan? Dealers will offer at $500 over invoice over the phone. Are you sure you did not agree to several thousand in addons once the car arrives at the dealership? Are you certain that the dealer is not just using your order to get a larger inventory to sell at MSRP?

Infiniti has not indicated that they are going to crank up the production lines anymore than this past year on the coupe and this car is becoming even more popular as more are on the road and word of mouth increases.

.....and yes it was a coupe. I just trying to help out not cause a debate, (gosh) !!

......and if you look sales drop off around ~ Dec. Jan. Feb. good time to count a sale

EDITED: signed for about ~ 31,655 on a 33,995 - title fees

Yep, I noticed that too. Dealers seems to be more willing to lower the price now that the whole new model car frenzy is over with. The supply is way enough for the demand right now, especially in big cities where price have drop a little since dealers have to fight one another for your money. My friend got his coupe $1500 under mrsp but I have no idea if there was any hidden fees. But if I recall correctly, some people here got their's under mrsp also even before the new model year came out so it should not be a surprise for anyone on this board.

Re: DON'T PAY MSRP ANYMORE

The largest credible discount before this post was appx $1000. A very few others posted that they got discounts of $100-600. Thats it.

So this is pretty big news. Especially considering that its on a 2004, not a 2003 taking up space. Not only that, it makes this car one very great deal if people can get a discount that deep.

Re: DON'T PAY MSRP ANYMORE

Have people been getting these discounts on 6mts? I think 6mts are still hotter right now as evidence by the fact that this is the only model the msrp has gone up on. I was just at a dealer yesterday and they had 3 auto coupes in stock by not one 6mt...I'm sure I'm not the only one who has seen that.
The could be bad news for current owners...dealers discounting msrp means lower relsale...

btw...right off the bat the internet manger at my dealership told me I could do better than the $500 off they gave me if I went to new jersey (I'm in ct) back in april...people have been getting deeper discounts from certain new jersey dealers for a while now..

Re: DON'T PAY MSRP ANYMORE

I was at a dealer last week in CT and was told that MSRP was as good as it was gonna get for a 6MT car (which according to the dealer was much harder to come by). They had several AT coupes on the lot but only one 6MT which had already been sold. They didn't even have one for me to test drive. Considering there is only 2 or so Inifiniti dealers in CT, I'd say there must be some kind of shortage on the 6MT which will probably keep the price at MSRP for some time...

Re: DON'T PAY MSRP ANYMORE

This fits with what I'm seeing here in Atlanta. I'm looking for a Coupe, auto, Diamond Graph/willow int, with premium and spoiler.

Both Atlanta Infinity dealers I've visited have at least 15-20 coupes on the lot, both autos and six speeds, and they come right out and let you know they can discount. I'm really waiting for my MB to get out of the body shop, I was rear ended, so I can sell it first, so I've been mainly window shopping right now, but today the dealer offered right off the bat, $2000 discount on any '03 coupe on their lot, either six manual or five speed auto! They are also selling any M45 at $8000 discount from msrp! They had about 40 of them on the lot. We drove both the M45 and G35 coupe, but as great as the M deal is I just can't get excited about it. Seems like now is a great time to buy.

We also looked at the Saab Vector 9-3, they are offering $3500 off of dealer COST not msrp, and 3.9% financing!!!! Nice car, but the G35 really has me hooked.

Re: DON'T PAY MSRP ANYMORE

...just picked up my '03 LR 6MT two weeks ago and was able to get $700 off MSRP... ..might have been due to the fact I had purchased 3 other vehicles from this dealer chain, or that the '04 models were getting close.
I LUV THE G!!!

A dealer in NJ offered me $1000 off on an 04' 6mt when I inquired about ordering.

Re: DON'T PAY MSRP ANYMORE

Yeah, same deal here. A Jersey dealer offered $1000 under MSRP for a 6mt Coupe.

I think this forum just promotes the buy-at-sticker-price hype. From my experience, people have not been buying at MSRP for quite some time now.

Re: DON'T PAY MSRP ANYMORE

i don't think it's hype.. it depends on location too.. it's not like this is happening everywhere.. i still think in some places, ppl are paying either MSRP or close to it..
