G35c Manual 6Speed's Reliability?
 

ok so i'm still in the process of getting the 06G35c. For all the vet owners out there that has had the 05 04 or even 03, i just wanted to know how good this car is in the long run? is it a good everyday driver car? simply because i work 40mins away from home driving in the highway alot. anybody eles in the same position i'm in? if i buy this car i wanna own it for more than 10yrs. is it worth it?

i'm 23. the income that i make is 2k a month. do you guys think it would be smart to get the car now or???? how eles is 23 and pay insurance for this car? whats the price range on that?


any info or help would be appreciated..thanks guys...

I am 20, going to college, still live with my mom, and NO KIDS! I am on a full scholarship, making $3,500 per month and its great! I don't know what your situation is but affording the G isn't too bad and worth every penny! But mines is an 06 so as far as long term reliability, I wouldn't know...

Save your money and wait. ;) At your age and wages, you'll never get ahead buying a G . . . If that is important to you. ;)

instead of making a new thread, i figured this had something to do with this topic.

How is maintence after warranty on the G? How long does the warrnty last..coming from BMW its an extended 6yr./100,000m warranty parts/labor inclueded.

How is it for infiniti? Also are parts/labor expensive? How the hourly rates for labor?

Honestly, i think 2000 a month is way too tight. youll be paying 500 car +150insurance+300 gas... so you would have 950 a month for your other necesities..

$2K is a little tight..... i make considerably more then you, but i find that paying for the car is sometimes a pain in the butt....... if i had only $2K to work with, it's a little tight..... what happens when something goes wrong?

Well actually if I include the tips I make its 2600 a month. I still live at home so no bills or anything. Although I do have a baby coming in a few months. U guys are right that isn't enough to get by n drive this nice car. Any other suggestions?

consider a pre-owned G-coupe if you really want it?

they are alot cheaper than a new one for instance I had to come back from my previous car which I dumped 10k on before I totaled by :mad: now I've paid it all back by now.

I was in need of a new car quick so I searched and G35 was one of my choices, went to a dealer and got an awesome price on a low mileage coupe.

i'd say it's a good everday car. I have a '04 6spd and i have a 60 mile commute (1 hour each way) and it's great. It kinda makes the traffic more bearable when you're driving a car you love. But in terms of of 10 or more years, that's hard to say but it should be fine *knock on wood*

now, as for you getting the car with you making 2600+ a month, i'm not sure about that, especially with a kid on the way. Get a used one or just get a another new car in the low 20s range.

Don't do it unless you want to be debit...
 

Things add up especially if you have a kid coming. Even a used G35 sounds ridiculious unless you have some form of an income increase comming in the imediate future.

Trust me I was in your boat when I owned a 300ZX TT. Not worth the hassle and I had no one to support other then the Z.

I'm in the exact same boat - 23, 2k a month after taxes, and i'm considering getting a G. I told myself i'm going to wait a year when i move closer to work (40 miles each way today), and when i should hopefully have a raise. I pay for everything though - rent, insurance, school loan, the works.

$2k is not nearly enough especially in your case with a kid. If you wait until you can comfortably afford a nice car like a G, you will be much happier (at least that's what i keep telling myself).

I am 26 and make in the same ball park... I compiled over 10K worth of debit because of my obsession with a car. Factor in modifications, maintenance (Tires alone will run $800+) and other things you will want to do like go-out, shop for clothes etc... plus save up for moving out and you realize in no time someone in our situation can't afford it.

Take your extra money and use it wisely so when you do get a raise you have money + the means to afford it.

I drive 2000 G20... It's ok... Obviously I am lurking over here because I plan to get a G35 once I straighten out my situation. But aleast for now I own a car I can completely afford since its bought out.

Kids are expensive as HELL man, you gotta be looking into something much cheaper, sorry to say.

A car payment w/insurance should be less than 20% of your income after taxes.
