What's the DIFFERENCE?

What is the difference between a coupe on the inside with the sport and premium packages vs. a coupe without the sport and premium packages. If i am correct with the sport package you get the 18 inch wheels, limited slip and titanium looking dash inserts! With the premium it is just the BOSE stereo and the sunroof! Right? Any answers?!?

Re: What's the DIFFERENCE?

Premium Pkg:
Tinted-glass power sunroof
8-speaker Bose® premium audio system with AM/FM/cassette/6-CD autochanger
Dual-zone climate control with microfiltration
Auto on-off headlamps
Electrochromic auto dimming inside mirror
Homelink® Universal Transceiver

Performance Pkg:
18-inch 7-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels
225/4518 front and 245/45R18 rear W-rated performance tires
Limited-slip rear differential
Additional titanium-tinted interior trim

That's just off the Infiniti website but yeah, you pretty much have already stated the main features that I know of except for dual-zone climate for the prem pkg and the tires on the sports pkg.

I have both packages and I always figured that the heated seats were part of the the prem package until I just went back to the site, learn something new everyday. By the way, if you are about to buy are and choosing packages, don't give much weight to the "Bose" part of the prem package if you are any kind of sound enthusiast in my opinion. The "Bose" name is completely over hyped and way over priced. Does it sound better than most factory stock 4-speaker cars? Yep. Does it sound better than what you could do if you did some research and paid 1/2 the price on a custom setup? Probably no. If Bose would put even half as much money into the development of their products as the do paying off big name auto manufacturers and retail outlets to tout their product, they could actually be a decent low to mid-level competitor in the auto and home sound market as far as quality is concerned.

Sorry, I'll just stop there on the Blose (I mean Bose) rant, this is an auto forum and I'm getting off subject. You might want to scratch that last part beacuse I admit I'm quite biased against Bose for how many people they are fleecing in the home theater market. Sorry.

Re: What's the DIFFERENCE?

thanks Rob....I agree with the Bose as being so-so. In my daily driver I have a fully custom system and I have yet to hear a stock from the factory system that sounds anywhere as good as mine. I can't put that high of an expectation on the factory systems! :)

Re: What's the DIFFERENCE?

the premium difference and price is why i ordered mine with only the sunroof. figure i'd get a better stereo elsewhere, and don't care too much about the homelink or dual air controls.

Re: What's the DIFFERENCE?

I actually find the homelink transmitters to be quite useful. I use 2 of them for each door on my own garage and the 3rd button for my parents' garage. It sure beats haveing 3 garage door remotes in the car! The dual climate is also used whenever my wife is in the car. She likes it warmer than I do.
