Driver Seat Gear/ Black Cap wiring inside broken?
Hey guys,
So I changed the gear about one year ago and never figured out why the entry / exit function stopped working after the change.. The steering wheel and seat back worked but the slide did not. I can still slide the seat with the switch, it's just the automatic feature stopped working.. I decided to take it back apart today and found what I think to be the problem. It appears there is a small wire that looks like the inside of a fuse inside the black cap that is broken. I have no idea how that happened unless the original stripped gear got caught in it. I think it has to do with the seat knowing how far it has actually moved or where it's at when setting the memory.
Anyone else seen this? I guess I will search the salvage yards for a seat and pull it off if they will let me.
