Driver's door seal
Is anyones Driver's door seal wearing out? I have an '06 sedan just 7 months old and just noticed today that in several places the rubber door seal around the door frame is worn out. When I was putting in a cell phone holder and running the wires to the fuse block I noticed some black material on the carpet next to the seat and this morning I noticed the seal was completely worn through in several areas.

That's a new one. Sounds like a warranty issue.

Mine is worn out also. I am 6'-3" and my seat is all the way back. The back of my seat is actually behind the pillar. When I get in the car I rub the weatherstripping if I am not paying attention.
I am not sure there is much I can do about it. I have heard about someone getting it replaced under warrenty, but it is not a permenant fix. |
Mine are HEAVILY worn, both front doors. They're called "Door welts" or something (thats what they call the seal), they're about $200 each, and was told to pound sand when I wanted it replaced under warantee. At the time I had 50,000 on my 03.0

I just replaced my driver's side one. It had a couple rips when I got the car. It was ~$60-70.

Thanks for the comments. Just left a message for a friend of mine that has an '05 sedan to see if his is worm. I am dropping her off at the dealer for the 15K check and will tell them about the seal. I have only had the car 7 months andthis should not happen in 7 months.
