Transmission issue - what's covered under warranty?
 

Wassssup!

I've been reading the transmission issue with the 6MT Sedan's and I know I have the problem. Mostly in the morning, I have grinding issue going from 4th to 5th gear. This happens almost 90% of the time.

In any case, I brought it to the dealer and they said its most likely a clutch issue. They want to charge me $400 to replace the clutch! If this was only a clutch issue, won't it happen when shifting on all gears?

Anyway, for those of you that had your transmission/clutch replaced with this issue, did you guys have to pay? If you did, how much?
Mine is an 05 with 28k miles. It is still under warranty. I think I'm getting ripped off by the stealership!

Any feedback you guys can give me will greatly appreciated!

the clutch is considered a wear item so its usually not covered under warranty. The transmission itself is warrantied for 6 years or 70K. Take it to another dealer if possible and see what they say.
