got a OEM coupe muffler on my sedan -

nothing is impossible :JAMIN:

new pics and vids here...
https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...-03-sedan.html

it's paired up with a coupe midpipe so it sounds exactly like a stock G coupe or Z. It's quieter than my OEM sedan muffler was with the coupe midpipe on. Sounds pretty sweet but wish it was louder. May look at adding some HFC's later and go for this sound

gotta get the bugs out of this first. Not saying I'm going to keep this, and I think it still could be adjusted to look a little better for what it is. I think the tips should be more tucked up under the car and not at a slight downward angle but that can be fixed. I'm actually planning to cut off the 4in tips and run the outlet pipes a little farther left and right and weld on some nice dual tips comeing straight out the back. Of course cut another notch on the pass side of the rear nismo underspoiler just like the one on the drivers side and have two tips on each side of the car. Not sure about everything yet and I'm not 100% sold on this even if the cosmetic adjustments are made so all comments are welcome

Looks very nice

Got any pics of the underbody at all?

perry05G35 04-17-2008 05:37 PM

I applaud the effort. You should look into getting the Stillen Sedan rear valence it already comes with dual cut outs on both sides of the valence made of polyurethane and it's pretty soft so you can do any other modifications you may want with it. That would be cheaper than modding your painted Nismo rear valence.

wow! that's awesome
pics of the underbody!!+2

We might have a first timer here...

impressive!! I feel like the should be spaced outwards more and I agree with you on them being tucked up towards the rear more. However GREAT job!!! let's see pics of that underbody!

the coupe mid pipe had to be extended to reach but this mod is definately not for everyone lol that's custom ;)

I'll get underbody pics for you guys but I think you would all rather see pics from inside my trunk. It still needs more work to finish it up but it's going to require a welder. I used a cut off wheel for about 2 hours to put a good size notch in my spare tire well which was very easy if you have the air tools. I am pretty sure that I will be able to reshape the metal that came out and put it back in, however there is no way the spare tire well will be as deep as it was. But if a full size spare could fit down in there I'm sure a space saver still will after I get the floor put back in. I didn't have to mess with any of the fuel canisters and all of that is far enough away to not be an issue.

work in progress...

wow... what exactly had to be done to make it work? how low does the muffler sit?

*nevermind* you just posted before me.

cool how much is that one and do they come painted ?

wonder if the vertical lines can be removed though. I just got the nismo underspoiler and for $500 I hate to cut on it but I probably will to get exactly the look I want.

I wonder if one would get the same sound if it was mounted lenghwise like the oem muffler. Would call for redoing the outlets. One would be longer than the other. And the inlet would have to be custom done.

no prob the muffler is high enough off the ground to not scrape (so far) and could go higer but those 4in tips having to go under the bumper limit how high the muffler can be mounted. As you see my tips already point down slightly for that reason. I bet I can move it up if I put on two of these much flatter tips after spreading the pipes out more to the OEM cut out spot on the drivers side and notch the pass side.
not yet sure toatally what how I'll finish this really.
