So I'm screwed...Lost my only set of keys

This weekend and they are no where to be found. I called the dealer and it is going to be 300+ bucks for a new key and to be programmed (not sure if that includes the remote) I had my car unlocked from the locksmith today and he said he could do the key and programming for 185 and a remote for another 100...does this sound about right? Has anyone ever had this happen?

^^ that sucks dude, my dealer gave me like 2 sets of keys, the emergency wallet key, the little tag in case you need to make another copy and a screwdriver

where did you lose them?? did you have uninvited guest over? more info on your situation would help us help you.
that freaking sucks that your dealership sold you the car with 1 key and 1 keyfob.

The dealer I bought my '07 g35 coupe from in Calgary only had a single key for it (no FOBs) and they offered to either order it for me or I could order it and they would reimburse me. I'd recommend asking your dealer to do that.

It isn't just the keyfob that has to be programmed. The key itself has an anti-theft RFID chip in it that has to be paired with the car's ECU. As far as I am aware, this step requires the dealer's Consult tool.

Something tells me, just a hunch, that if he knew this, the keys wouldn't still be lost ;)
