Battery died.. Water is half way mark. I doubt more distilled water can resurrect it. 2002 Manf. So it is about time it gets done anyway. Got stuck today had to wait for the jump. I am in Chicago so need some good cranking amps.

Looking to see what people replaced their OEM battery with .... from....

Haven't had to replace the battery in the G yet, but the Maxima battery before that came from Costco - Kirkland (house brand). Not high tech, but quality at a good price.

Anything with a reverse post that will fit and has the CCA is good. For a short time I had one from Walmart with a lot more CCA than the oem battery that worked well.

We have a continuing thread with discussion of what batteries other members here replaced with:

I replaced my stock battery with the Optima Red Top two months ago. This may be out of most people's price range as it costs around $160 and heavy as heck but I've always wanted an Optima in one of my cars and I've heard nothing but the best from the brand.

Optima Red Top or Duralast

I would go with the Gold Duralast from Autozone. Although the Optima Red Top is a very good battery, unless you have a powerful aftermarket sound system, you don't really need it for a stock G. Plus the Duralast is about $70 cheaper and has a good warranty.
