Yellow Top: Who's got em?
Just Replaced the stock battery for a yellow top today. With the cold temps I didn't want to gamble on the old one. Any one else use them? Thoughts?

Some guys go with red tops.

Red: Cheaper, 3 year warranty
Yellow: 5lbs heavier, higher performance (for heavy duty car audio), 1 year warranty |
yellow is good for audio, red is better for everyday starting up

AFAIK, Yellow is only made in deep cycle. What that means is that it's meant to be completely drained, then recharged, optimally (no pun intended), trickle charged. Recharging this type of battery consistently (ala alternator) is not good for them at all, and will severely reduce life.
Red tops are your standard car batteries with some extra oomph. |
