Horrible Day

Nobody responded to my bumper replacing post, so i thought i would give you a pic: https://g35driver.com/rides/spec/pix...1086913757.jpg
(I could use some help posting the pic in this thread)
The car is an 04 that we picked up in March which makes this even worse.

Hey bro, I just tagged your pic addy with [image] and [/image] to display it here.

Sorry to see the damage to the X. It's not much consolation for you at the moment, but bumpers are easily fixed or replaced. Once done, you'll not know the difference.
Good luck with the repairs, and kudos for having such a fine ride.
Glad to help.

Hey, wanna buy a bumper? I've got a Silver sedan and I'm getting the aero kit put on so I'll have an extra bumper lying around.

Hey man i did something really similar... I accidentally backed into somethin like a month after I got the car..I was fuuuummmmin mad. But ne way i understand how frustratin it is...But i posted and some guy (S/N JustAThought - THANX) gave me the idea to pour water over it (so it doesnt melt wax and leave a heat mark)and use a hair dryer to heat it up and jst use muscle pushing in from the inside of it..It was kinda tough to do but after it heated up JUST ENOUGH, it popped right back out with hardly Any noticeable damage. Maybe try something like that if you want...It worked great for me and i now have a sigh of relief. I just waxed over it and you can only see if it if I point it out.

achee, isn't the rear bumper the same with the aero kit? I thought it just included a lower lip and the diffusers.

Re: Horrible Day

I new bumper, painted and installed, is going to run approx. $600-700 at a quality body shop, assuming all you need is the plastic bumper cover (and G35x logo). If there's damage underneath it could be more (but probably not from that picture.. though they can't be 100% sure until they remove it and look).

Mine was rear-ended at a red light by a little Nissan pickup last year.. and it was less than 3 months old at the time, too.

Good luck with the repairs!

Re: Horrible Day

I had mine for 1 week when I was bumped in the rear by an old guy. I trusted him with the info he gave me and guess what?? It was all BS and I was stuck with the bill myself. I had a quote of 550 to replace the rear bumper cover and paint it. I haven't done anything to it because it's really not that noticable. I'm going to try the hair dryer method and see what happens....
