Eibach Pro Kit Vs Z/G Spring Combo

Yesterday i had my first experience doing a 'twisty run' (same thing as a canyon run for you californians except not as gnarly)

My car felt a bit heavy. I'd get a bit of body roll, but the tires wouldnt lose grip (these Falkens are friggen AWESOME)

Im thinking about getting an eibach pro kit and potentially 350z struts.

ATM i am rocking 350z springs up front and g coupe springs in the abck on the red 04 sedan sport struts.

Would i notice a difference switching to that?

Or should i just leave it as is.

Also, im going tomorrow to get an alignment performed. Should i wait if i decide to switch?

The eibach kit is only $200 so it isnt crazy like coilovers.

im no suspension guru so i cant answer your primary question but i say wait on getting the alignment if you are going to get the eibach kit.

I would get some sway bars, you will notice a difference.

Did you get different endlinks? That is the other option but i heard they eat through endlinks. i just want somthing i can put on without having to always fix..

+1 on sways. i love my setup: stillen sways, H&R springs, Tokico HP shocks/struts, NRG front strut brace and RareJDM rear shock brace. i still plan on getting the Powergrid endlinks.

*350z H-techs are also another great spring option

you'll only "need" new endlinks if you get a really agressive drop. even then they're not a necsessity, just an upgrade.

Not to hijack but are the 350 struts shorter then the G struts? Reason I ask is because I used Eibach springs for a 350 on my coupe and I am alot lower then my friends Z was on the same springs.

I say get the eibachs, more aggressive drop and they are the best!

That being said. I will buy your 350Z/coupe combo. Ok deal.

Eibachs are a step backwards from a performance standpoint. They're progressive rate springs which means they're soft initially and as the compress, they'll become stiffer. This isn't a good combination for performance because it is harder to tell what the suspension is doing and the car will pogo around as it's going from soft to stiff spring rates.

Car lean isn't necessarily a bad thing. BMWs, including M series cars, and the RX8 which is known for amazing handling, lean pretty hard in the turns. A super flat cornering on car on DOT rubber is a recipe for disaster as suspension will be so resistant to lean that all that energy will be ransferred directly to the tires with the least amount grip which leads to sliding.

Do you plan on racing this car on road courses or auto-x?

Wannabe6MT 04-26-2009 11:43 PM

No, just stiffer for when i go on twisty roads or turns.

So your saying sways will help out? Stillen?

4DGS 04-26-2009 11:46 PM

Sways eliminate body roll and squishiness!!

I'd say eibach sways....

Wannabe6MT 04-26-2009 11:54 PM

Stillen Sways are $285.

Which isnt too bad.

You can find them used though for sure. Check kijiji and craigslist.

im using the stock endlinks with my stillen sways. Ive read the 05+ endlinks were improved from previous years.

Did you notice a pretty big difference then? I heard sway bars are loud. Is that true too?
