Nice upgrade, you will enjoy the rear wheel drive and the two extra doors. How many miles do you have on your RSX? Looks like its in good condition.

Hammerhead i-Eagle Thrust 08-19-2009 08:58 AM

rsx has 70500, it's in pretty good shape, fun car, but if u get on it from a stop u just end up with a ton of wheel hop. I took off the CAI, race header and hondata kpro last night in the dark..that was fun.

jaysizzlecity2 08-19-2009 09:01 AM

yes no more FWD and no more acura LOL.......... I LOVE IT..........

Hammerhead i-Eagle Thrust 08-19-2009 09:03 AM

needed some torque..lol

is there any problem with running 245/45-17 blizzacks on the g? my bro has a set for his gto, i was gonna mount them on the kosei's that are on my rsx now (17x8 +35)?

The 245/45's will be about 1/2" shorter, but going to a wider tire for a snow tire may not be so great. You want a narrow tire to cut through the snow. A wide tire will ride up on top of it and slide more easily.

welcome! the new ride looks clean, like mine when i first got it! look into a revised Z suspension and a lightly used HKS muffler & coupe midpipe. the best $500 you'll spend on mods - oops am i already talking mods? get used to it on here...

i know they are wider then I would want ideally for snow, but my bro happens to have a set of barely used blizzacks I was really just wondering how changing the height would effect vehicle dynamic control or w/e because I read that different height tires mess that up.

Atleast you arent one of those newbs that goes out and buys a TSX lol. Few people have done that on my local forum and everyones like "OMG SWEET PICKUP" and im like "Its slower than what you had before? Whats so special?"

Then i post a pic of the G and i get like, 4 responses...

i like tsx's, but they just offer nothing performance wise, the handling is good for a fwd car, the interior is top notch, but it runs like 16.0 with a 6 speed..lol

however i have a friend, sort of a toyota fanboy(5 celicas, 3 corollas, mr2 turbo, mr2 spyder) he bought an 04 g35 6 mt and it was kind of a lemon (wouldnt go into 2nd in winter, rear defrost interfered with the radio and some other stuff that slips my mind, he ended up going back to a celica gt-s and then into a tsx and he likes the tsx more, but he does have a 12 second mr2 turbo if he wants to go fast i guess...idk hopefully i will fair better, this car looks really clean and had a great carfax. the only thing that bugs me is there was some oil residue on the solenoid in front of the dip stick and the previous owner debaged the "G35" letters and stuck just the "G" on the fender by the drivers side door:confused2:, but hey my rsx had a panda sticker on the winder..lol, whoever picks that car up is getting a very nice greddy sp2 catback, rbc intake manifold(from 06+ civic si's, good for like 10-15whp with a tune), full innovative motor mounts and recently overhauled tein ss-p's....also a .5-1qt per 1000 mile oil consumption issue..lol, but its been like that since it was new

canucklehead 08-19-2009 12:54 PM

keep on top of the tranny issue. you still have 3k left of powertrain warranty. if you notice any rough shifting or related issues take the car in immediately. i'm on my 2nd tranny (under warranty) after occasional rough 1-2 shifts. if you don't have any problem then great, but you don't want to be stuck with a rugh tranny after the 70k mark when you're out of warranty.

Hammerhead i-Eagle Thrust 08-19-2009 01:27 PM

i added 2 year/24k extended warranty so im covered until 91k bumper to bumper with roadside assitance, i always end up breaking trannies anyway...acura rebuilt my tranny 3 times(don't ask, but the third time it was their fault for not adjusting the clutch right...of course i should have noticed), my gt-s also had 2nd gear syncro issues.

As long as all 4 tires are the same size, then you won't have a prob.

Only issue will be your speedo will be off. With the shorter tire, you will be going slower than your speedo reads. With that size, when you are going 60MPH according to your speedo, you will be really doing 58.5MPH. Not a big difference really, but just something to be aware of

Hammerhead i-Eagle Thrust 08-19-2009 01:53 PM

yeah i know the side effects of running the wrong tire size...might just get some 215/55-17 snows, idk

g35freak86 08-19-2009 04:13 PM

damn your from NY? You should have checked my sedan out that's for sale. It's 500 bucks cheaper with 3k less miles!
