My G35 Vs. My Wife's 02 Max SE vs. My 87 GT
 

The G35 now officially wipes it's tail pipes with my Wife's 02 Maxima from 40-90 mph and my Mustang GT (that I just got back after 19 months of being painted) still rules the roost. The Mustang pulled my G35 by at least 7 Car lenghts from 2nd Gear at like 35 mph all the way up to 100...I was pretty shocked the G didn't stay any closer...but once I ripped 3rd in the Mustang it was see my brother later while he was in the G35.

In all fairness to my brother he was not mannually shifting though so if I were driving my G35 vs.my own Mustang it would be a lot closer. ;-)

what year and tranny is the GT? the GT and G35 should be very close if both are driven to the max.

The Max just has a CAI and that's it...14.52 @ 94+ with a 4AT on Stock tires in 88F weather two summers ago is good enough for her. lol

Flag and IllG35...

My Mustang has run 13.2 @ over 107 mph in the 1/4, won a few Auto Xs and does well over 165 mph...it dynos 300 RWHP and 335 RWTQ with every mod you can do to a Mustang and still keep it naturally aspirated. It's an 87 GT 5 Spd..it had a Tremec 3550 tranny, but that had to be the biggest POS on the planet for smooth shifts so I went back to a smooth shifting T5.

I just ordered a Bassani Hi Flow Cat X-Pipe and Cat Back Bassani Exhaust to quiet it down and I am throwing on the polished aluminum BBK UD Pulleys, and the GT 40 Upper Intake, BBK Polished 70 MM TB and EGR Spacer too...then I am done and it should sound a lot quieter and ride a lot smoother.

The reason the Mustang eats the G35 alive is for one reason...Torque...My mustang TQ curve looks like it shoots out of a cannon...lol...and it dynos over 100 lbs/ft more than my G35...The G rocks, but there is no replacement for displacement.

With that said...I would sell the Mustang for a good deal...10 years ago, I would never have said that, but the G is going to be tough to part with when the lease is done...as of now. ;-)

Have you looked into the new BBK dual plane intake/throttle body/fuel rail setup? Looks sweet but I haven’t seen any tests done on it.

I believe all that stuff is for the mod engines...right? Is your 00 a 4.6 with a blower or 302 or 351 OHC engine.

Nice Pics...Nice Mods...Those style Saleens are my favorite...absolutely gorgeous cars.

Be careful, the G police are going to yell with all this Mustang talk. lol

oh, come on it is just going fast in an affordable car. Just like the G. car's going fast and people loving their cars. don't matter who beats who as long as it is fun. Never was a cheaper way to go fast than a 350 camaro or a 302 mustang.

you can buy both of those cars, turn 12's and still spend less money than we did on our one G. for a fun car on a bucget, american displacement can't be beat (see dictionary under "corvette")

Boss I'm boring out the G to 4.3L and coming to get you the G and yer stang. Not really but you seem game for the stoker kit. It's only 8k and so what if it breaks.. you lease right! Imagine 400 poines NA from a 6 cylinder..i cant sleep at night since I saw that kit but it wont fly in my reasoning.
