Remember "search" button is key

Its always hard to find the exact answer your looking for through search.
How much is a TB spacer?
Y dont u get a baseline dyno and then u tell us if there are gains :D

4DGS 03-06-2010 06:41 PM

They are about $200+

You get 3-5hp if you're lucky.

thescreensavers 03-06-2010 07:52 PM

^ what if I sneeze ?

4DGS 03-06-2010 07:56 PM

You'll probably lose horsepower unless you sneeze into the back seat.

Tollboothwilley 03-06-2010 08:10 PM

I bought a TB spacer for $80. As far as gains, I dunno. I never dyno'd it.

Mustang5L5 03-06-2010 10:49 PM

It would give you gain in Torque if anything. Usually longer plenum runner lenght increases torque slightly. Would you feel it? Who really knows.

Just buy the whole kit like mine motordyne 5/16 plenum and copper throttle spacer. In my opinion since I live in AZ desert and hot, that plenum and copper spacer keep my engine cooler than usual. I ran the car for an hour the upper plenum barely warm and can keep my hand there for 5 minutes not even burning. Increase HP that no clue but the car response better in my opinion

That is a massive heat reduction! Now i want to do it if thats true. Pretty sure I can cook breakfast on mine after a couple minutes hahaha

str3zz 03-07-2010 02:54 AM

It's true as long as you drive normal not racing it. If I race it usually it will get hot but not burning I can still touch it and just like holding a hot coffee

That's intense if this is true! I'm so surprised I have never seen the same claim in all the time I waste reading these forums. Very cool! going to have to working some funds in that direction.

Oh just FYI I ran AEM CAI and NGK step 1 colder spark plugs on mine also and that's what keep my engine cool.

If outdoor weather around 40-50 degree I tested just a week ago actually came home from work took about 40 minutes as usual and replace my engine cover with 350z one and touch my plenum still cold like it was never running.

And again this is my personal experience so if you not getting the same result I don't know what to tell you

This is what I got from motordyne

G35 & M35 5/16" Copper Iso Thermal plenum spacer $295.00*
*

The Motordyne Copper Iso Thermal plenum spacer adds 12HP-14HP and reduces the effect of power robbing heat soak by thermally isolating both the upper and lower plenum. Its 5/16" thickness provides the best overall performance and is fully compatible with your engine cover and strut bar.

All Motordyne Iso Thermal systems keep your upper and lower plenum cooled without the risk of throttle body freezing when driving in cold weather.

Use the Copper if it snows in your area.
