might be a broken actuator but be glad its not stuck in the closed position

There is a cylindoid that locks/unlocks it. Should be glad it failed in the unlocked state :) A few months ago I went to buy gas and it didn't open. Luckily, it wasn't an emergency, and since I was in the town with the dealership, I went in and they removed it. Then, when I was in town the next time I had it replaced.

It is mostly labor which drove up the cost. Had to remove the trunk lining to get to it.

.....like mine was the other day. I had to pry it open (and thus bend it all to hell in the process) with a screwdriver.

bryman<-----luckily found one on ebay (for $50...yikes!)

i was in that situation too .

but mines got locked . and couldnt open with door locks .

so i opened the trunk removed the lining behind the gas door and felt around ..

i found that theres a stick you can push and pull thats actually what locks your gas door .. i pulled it and gas door opened ..
after gassing up i pushed it in . and gas door locks . lol

i bought a gas cap with a lock on it for 5 bucks . until i get a new actuator ..

its very easy to fix!

just rip off some interior panels and its there. i've lubed mine, disconnected, all sorts of stuff and it worked on and off. eventually i got fed up being locked in the lock position and i tied a string to it, ran it to the trunk and if i had the problem of it stuck locked, open the trunk, pull and it opened!

SEARCH BTW!
