High pitch noise coming from engine....Anyone?
There is a high pitch noise coming from the right side fo my engine if you were lookin at it from the front. I cant quite pin point it but it is loud and is getting imbarrassing. It doesnt do it all the time and is definately affected by the throttle. Whe I press the gas, the noise dies down a little but does not go away. Anyone have any suggestions?

^ Yep

no i know what a drive belt sounds like...this is more like a high pitched whistle....yeah im stumped.....

It's gotta be a pulley seizing up on you. It's prob not the timing chain or tensioner just cuz problems in that area on our cars are very very rare... At least so far...

if it was a pulley it would do it all the time dont you think...this annoying sound has a mind of its own..sometimes it will do it sometimes it wont, ill know as soon as it starts if it will do it or not. its very frustrating!

Try this mate: put a little dish washer soap on the pulleys and drive belts and start up the car- if the squealing goes away, it's your belts/ pulleys. If the noise remains, at least you ruled out your belts/pulleys. Worth a shot...

Yea, in your case, that would be your belts/pulleys. My case is a little different, I hear the high pitch squeeky noise when the car goes on a rocky road, go over a bump or even at stop (not suspension parts for sure cause the noise can be heard at stop). Not all the time but sometimes it does produce the noise and sometimes it does not. I always wanna take it to a mechanic but it is hard since the car does not produce the noise all the time. Weird in my case.
