Not exactly. Above 12mph or whatever the trigger point is, it's 100% rwd until needed, then the computer can add power to the front wheels up to 50/50% split.
Under 12mph and in "normal" operation, the power split is 75%/25% favoring the rear wheels.
If you flip the "snow" button, the car is now locked 50/50 like part time 4wd up to 18mph or something like that. Above that, then the computer manages the torque split.
But, if you are on the highway doing 80MPh, the car is pretty much running rwd

Drop your speed to 45-55mph and ypu will see it go up. I've gotten 27MPG when I can force myself to stay at 55mph. Of course that means staying in the roght lane while traffic zips by me at 80mph
Above 55mph And the mileage drops off.

Unless you're really strapped for cash, the numbers just don't work for me by going 55 vs. 65-70. I get 24-ish using cruise control and going about 70. A full tank at 27mpg gets you 540 miles. A full tank at 24mpg gets you 480, so you need about 2.5 more gallons to get to 540. That's maybe $8-$10 dollars. But, going 55 takes you almost 10 hours to go 540 miles (9h 50m). Going 70 takes you under 8 hours (7h 43m). Even at 22mpg, it's just 4.5 more gallons, or maybe $16.
Personally, it's worth even the $16 to get there more than 2 hours sooner. My time is more valuable to me than that.
