18's - I Know They Fit, But Real World Questions...
 

Hey all,
I'm really looking to get some new wheels on my car. I've been searching for days to figure out what 18" combo is going to work for my daily driven G. It will not be lowered, as I am always hauling around my wife, kids, groceries, and I also use the car for vacations - meaning this thing gets loaded occasionally with luggage as well. I like the look of the 18" 7-spoke coupe wheels and also the 350z Touring 6-spokes. Both are 18x8 +30 offset, and I've seen tons of pics of cars on this site wearing these rims, so I know they "fit." But, from a practical standpoint, will I get ANY rubbing, especially if I run 245/45s all around? I have NO desire to roll my fenders or run too much camber just to make them fit. Please advise!! :)

Also, if the 18x8 +30s won't clear a loaded car, is there another offset that would be better? I really dig the XXR 962s - would their 18x8.5 +35 clear everything even if the car is loaded?

It should clear bro, if you're on stock suspension.

I have coupe 18s in my sedan with stock suspension, but I run 225s on the front and 245s on the rear, which I think is the standard coupe layout. The front tyres sit almost flush with the guards, but the rears do overhang the guard slightly, however, I haven't had any rubbing. I think as the suspension compresses, the top of the wheel pulls in slightly and misses the guard.

I have 7 spoke 18"s and the cars is lowered and I dont get any rubs. I do have 225's on the front. If you are worried at all about it (which you shouldnt with stock suspension) run 225s on the front or all around.

You will not rub on coupe 18's, so you could do 235f and 245r. There's a sticky in the Wheel Tech section on OEM wheel sizing. Here's the link:

My current `while-im-in-skool` set up is dropped on 350z springs and coupe 18s with 245/45 all around, i load up my car all full all the time, no rubbing ever, plenty of room, if u want pictures let me know

IMO pretty flush set up and fills the fender gap nicely

Nothing fancy here to see...just a Z/G drop on 255/45 in the rear and 245/45 in the front on Sedan Sport 18". Need spacers to bring back the wheels and make them flush...to lazy to install spacers and have buddy roll fender right now. I have no rubbing what so ever on the craziest potholes, dips or taking sharp turn/u-turns all day long. I would imagine you have to be driving fully loaded and going airborne and slam back down to the ground on a stock suspension to the point where you bottom out and the floor pan goes through the roof to rub 245/45 tires on stock suspension
