lent me wife the car and....you guessed it...

Still waiting to hear the assessment of the damage.

A guy was speeding down a highway and got pulled by police radar. Instead of stopping and waiting for the police. He proceeded to reverse on the highway. The lady behind him hit him and them my wife hit the lady. The police who witnessed the accident said they had no time to stop. The guy was charged. I am still waiting to hear from the insurance company as to the extent of the damage.

glad she is OK, cars and be fixed or replaced! On the bright side she'll be too afraid to ever borrow your car again

I'm wondering about fault in this situation...regardless if someone abruptly stops, or does anything else stupid, you should always leave enough room to stop...any thoughts OP?

I agree but when the police witness it and their is a car recklessly driving in reverse on a highway I'm sure fault is turned to them

Well police charged the guy and didn't charge my wife and said she didnt have enough time to stop. I know the lady who initially hit the guy has gotten a NO fault from her insurance company. We requested a copy of the police report to send to our insurance company because initially they were saying it was my wife fault.

Nice, smart move...we all know that insurance companies will do whatever they can not to pay or lay blame.

Yeah for when everyone is in the forward motion, literally cut the stop time in half because the other car is moving in an opposite vector . . . car length means nothing at this point, reckless driver is completely at fault. Glad to hear your wife is okay man !
