Are you using premium gas?

check ur spark plugs

same thing happenning to my 06 5at. in any gear in manual mode it hesitates from about 3600 to 3800 rpms then pulls hard. know my spark plugs are original and need changing though, it has 104,000 miles on it. also the air filter is about to get replaced with k and n. I think with new plugs and a new filter it should be good. After that I would get the throttle body cleaned......

ok guys i changed the plugs with ngks...did a lucas fuel treatment...car ran good and mpg went up no hesitation..about a few days later went back to low mpg and i still get the sputtering around 4-4.5k i noticed the stock filter was dirty so i put in a z1 hi flow filter with the ztube and still sputtering..i also ran another fuel injector cleaner and no difference

Dejavu!

Go look at my thread. My passenger side cat is clogged causing the same issue. I am in the process of attempting to acquire some new high flow cats to replace them.

Also, go get some CRC MAF sensor cleaner and take the MAF sensor out and clean it.

Heres the link to my thread about this.

Any codes?

Spark plugs would be my first guess, although my dads Dodge Ram was doing the same thing a year ago and it turned out to be a bad O2 sensor.

See if you can jack up the front end and pull them out to see if they're still good.

Is it stock?

ericdeyoung19 03-27-2013 07:57 PM

I actually have the same problem - it seems like right around that 3.8k-4k mark, there is a little loss of power, then it goes back to pulling hard. Interested in suggestions!

I had this issue with a few bolt on modifications, and a catback. It gave me a really good excuse to splurge and replace my catalytic converters with AAM. It's a good idea to replace the y pipe while you do this if your interested... But my issue was either my o2 sensors or the stock cats got clogged up, I'll never know. But regardless it's a good idea
To do both because you won't get the stock o2's out without ruining the threads.

so you fixed this issue by changing the cat?...and way to test the cats out?
