Rebuilt Front CV Axle - is anyone making these?

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a company selling remanufactured axle assemblies for the G35 - I have a 2006 G35X Sedan, Auto. I need the front passenger/right assembly. None of my parts searches online turned this up. I've tried 3 different garages who can't locate the part either (aside for the OEM part, which cost over $500.-$700) Buying rebuilt axles used to be a very easy thing to do, so I'm a bit perplexed here. Thanks for any help.

Looking at rockauto.com right now they have one for $89.89 which includes a $25 core charge which you get back when you ship them your old one.

Very interesting - I was trying to find the Cardone part but was only coming up with the rear part # on various sites. Thx for suggesting Rock Auto. I'll call to verify.

That listing was a bit misleading. They are only selling a return & rebuild option, meaning I need to send them the part first and be without for up to two weeks while they rebuild.

Any other ideas out there?

You might keep an eye on rockauto, their inventory changes daily. I bought a rear replacement half shaft and the day before I purchased it they only had the R&R option for the rear left. Checked the next day and they had a rebuilt one for sale.

Edit: Yesterday they didn't offer the R&R service. They had actual axles for sale so keep checking back there.

I see both rear axles are listed on Rockauto.com, but only repair and return for the front axles.

In a way that sucks, but best option short of going to dealer....if you can afford to let your car sit a few dsays

take it off and go to ANY axle shop and have them rebuild it.

I've been told there are a couple here in chicago that can do with a less then 24 hour turn around.

the amount of AWD VS RWD g35's are just too little for most vendors to care for and on top of that most people just replace the boot that is torn.

EBAY has some wrecked cars with used axles, i rather pay that if rebooting/rebuilding isn't an option locally.

just found one for $320 shipped. Like i said not my first option but its better then ordering it from the dealership @$500+ plus they dont have them in stock so you need to wait 2-3 days as well.

Thanks for he continued ideas. I'll look into local rebuild. Checking Rockauto again, they now stock the front left, but front right is still R&R - oh, so close.
