Well she's a keeper!!!

Well my 2006 G35x is at 180k miles.. and I have search for a new car for over 6 months and do not like anything that makes me want a car payment.. a couple things tho.. One, Whenever I get an oil change with Synthetic my car has a slight "Knock" at idle that gets quieter after about 1,000 miles.. wtf is that?? Two, My car has a slight "humm" at speed tho both wheel bearings were replaced within the last 60k miles.. Otherwise my G has been an acceptable car that still pulls very strong and I don't baby it.. getttin a steady 19.7 mpg since 2008!! I need some postive comments to keep me strong to keep my baby LOL

Not saying it's a wheel bearing issue, because your symptom was quite vague, but THERE ARE 4 wheel bearings...

I still love my '03 G after 10 years. Mine only has 77K miles though.

That is insane....
I've had mine for just an year now and I've racked up around 30k

Anyway OP Keep it. New cars are getting better in fuel economy safety and power. Hell a new golf R has about the same power as our stock G's with more systems standard. But those cars will never have you feeling the same way as you G will.
IMHO the only newer cars worth a car note(Financing) are obnoxiously expensive.

Yeah...seems that way.

I've come to find cars are the biggest waste of $$$ there is these days. Seems like you need >$30K to get something half decent. Another 10 years and the starting price of most cars will prob be in the $40K range.

I have that same faint knock at idle that Increases with speed but is faint and goes away occasionally. I'm thinking its bottom end bearing but hope not.

i have an 06 G35X and just hit 80k miles last week, i still love my G and continuing to mod.

I will never buy a new car again unless, (highly unlikely), I come into a lot of money. The amount saved on a good, low mileage 4 or 5 year used old car over new is huge.

How do you rack up all those miles???? IMO, get a 4cyl beater and keep that G for the VIP Friday nights and weekends... :JAMIN:

Agree. A loaded, Chevy Impala is already 40K! And that's a "cheap" Chevy.
