I agree with dominate here. Hell I only paid $500 for the wheels a couple of years ago and the G is trashed. Complete repaint (overspray everywhere), 180K on the odo, and the interior is trashed. But I will say after I drove it the motor, tranny and suspension seem to be rock solid for a car with so many miles.
So the rims aren't all that and a bag of chips but I love them and will be super happy to get them back.

I wonder if there is some crazy way they can reach back to the previous owner and really get them good. It's sad a lot of robberies and thefts go unsolved and it takes a John Wayne attitude to go back and find an answer.
As for them knowing more then they should, anyone owns a measuring tape and can measure out 20" or read it on the tire dude... So don't assume anything.
As for the good people radar, lol.

OK all so here is the deal. Went to see the car last night and lo and behold THEY ARE MY WHEELS!! The tires are exactly what I had on them and one of the front rims was welded a couple of years ago to repair a small crack on the inner barrel and the weld is there. The car is owned by a college girl of all people, and I met her and her Dad. They both mentioned separately that she had only had the car a couple of months, they are the kind of family that buys and sells cars all the time. I have really good people radar and I feel like they are telling the truth.
On the way to see the car, I called the Constable's office that investigated my initial theft and explained what mission I was on and asked for advice on how to handle the situation. I was told to not mention or give the impression I was there looking for stolen wheels, just to act like an interested buyer of the car, get as much information as I could about the people who owned it and take as many pictures as I could without raising any suspicions. Then I was to leave and the constable who investigated my original theft would contact me this morning and we'd go from there. I should have been an actor because I sold the whole buyer story like a ****, even dickered with the Dad on the price. I got pics of the car, the house, the vin plate on the dash, the license plate, and individual pics of the wheels/tires on one side of the car to show they had the exact tires on them that were on there when the wheels were stolen.
So now I can't sleep waiting for Deputy Harris to call this morning and let me know what's coming next. Big, big thanks go out to Syl_Man for the link to the Craigslist ad, w/o that I would have never found them. I'm a little disappointed I didn't find them myself because I have 2 websites that claim to search all Craigslist postings in the US and neither of them found this ad.
So get the popcorn out, today should be interesting to say the least. And thanks Drew, I really like the new wheels as well but the story seems to have a happy ending, I'll just have 2 sets of shiny wheels to swap out whenever I feel the need! I'll update this thread of course as things continue to develop.....

I just got off the phone with the constable who made my initial police report and I sent him all the documentation I needed to that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt they are my wheels and tires including the original e-mail I sent to insurance for the claim, a picture of a crack that was welded in the inner rim of one of the front wheels, and all the pictures I took last night. Hopefully this will be a fruitful and speedy recovery!
