Anyone else's sunroof controls look like this?

My brother just picked up a G35, not sure why these controls aren't integrated with the overhead lights and sunglasses holder like the others I've seen is.

Is anyone else's like this:

Aftermarket, Webasto

PAIXAO Feb 9, 2014 06:50 PM

Definitely an aftermarket sunroof.

maclovio Feb 9, 2014 07:24 PM

"special edition" haha. nah...aftermarket for sure!

Take a beautiful, rare, unmolested roof and dremel a hole in it :( :dunno:

Yeah i specifically sought out a sport package without a sunroof. Less weight up high, more rigidity and no leaks.

As others have said...aftermarket sunroof.

The car was ordered from the factory as a rare sunroof-less car. Then either the dealer, or a previous owner cut a hole in the roof.

From the looks of the headliner, i'm guessing dealer as that headliner seems molded to allow for a sunshade.

Yeah, the headliner looked factory, so I wasn't sure if they ran out of sunroof controls in their parts bin and did this to a run or two of them.

I'd go sunroof-less if I could as well. It's a lot of parts that can go wrong in the long run.

It wasn't a premium model, so no homelink. Adding the premium rearview was one of my favorite upgrades to my wife's G35. Once I had one in mine I couldn't go without.

What year is that car?

I think i've only seen one sunroof-less G35 before.

'05 6MT Sedan.

Mine is an of auto with sport package...if i thought sedans would become collector cars i would park n cover mine since it sounds rare to not have a sunroof.

Speedster Feb 18, 2014 05:05 PM

That sucks somebody would cut a hole in the roof. I hate sunroofs especially aftermarket. They never look quite right or work right in my experience and end up leaking. I'm so glad to have found my 03.5 sedan sans sunroof. It's always too hot or too cold to ever use them in North Texas
