Steering column + lowering springs

Hi,

I'm wondering if there are any videos or guides on how to remove and replace the steering column on the g35. My steering gets stiff half way and a mechanic says that it has to be the steering column since i replaced the ball joints and front control arms as well as a new steering pump. The thing is that he charges over $600 to replace the steering column and i'd rather do it.

Also, what are some good lowering springs? I'm looking to lower the car but don't want to splurge too much on coilovers. Thank you.

Get a factory service manual
Search for the videos on Youtube
It will probably not be the steering column, but the steering "rack" unless that's what he was referring to

Yeah ^^^

Disconnect the steering column spline and spin the wheel to check - Don't spin it beyond a turn or so each side or you'll damage the clock spring. Have you tried turning the wheels left to right with the front end off the ground?

^^^ diagnose a bad rack real quick.
