Motordyne

Hello, all!

I'm looking to getting some aftermarket parts. Specifically the Motordyne ART pipes.

Currently, my exhaust sounds like this.
I'm 16 and I've built up a little bit of savings to afford this but for now, I haven't done too much to the car.

What do you guys think of my current setup?

I have a muffler delete and a 20" Resonator but I'd like to get a deeper tone.

I've seen different versions of it but I'm confused as to which one would be compatible with my car. Currently driving a 2003 G sedan.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please have some leniency if my questions sound stupid. This will be my first "major" mod.

I usually go to car meets in Jacksonville every Saturday night. I have a few friends who drive G's. I asked for their opinion and they're telling me that the Motordyne ART pipes are unnecessary and resonated test pipes would be the best option.

I'd like to get some more.. "Professional" advice from folks who have more experience.

Kind regards,
Justin

It will be substantially louder than what you have now if it's still the stock catalytic converter. Expect some cabin drone but personally I don't think the art pipes + muffler delete is too raspy, it's just really aggressive. It's not going to give you the "deeper tone" though, it just makes the vehicle a LOT louder. There are quite a few variations of the art pipes, you can see all the configurations easily here at the Z1 site, make sure you get the correct one, they are not interchangeable due to different flanges.

Youtube search for "g35 muffler delete art pipes" and "g35 muffler delete" they will give you a decent idea of what to expect, look for fly by vids they typically have a more "honest" audio clip since people like to put their smartphone 2 feet away from their muffler and it destroys the audio...

Good Luck & enjoy the noise!

Justin, if this is really what you want to do watch our Marketplace under Private Classified then exhaust. You can save a few $$ by getting them used, doubtful if they'll ever wear out. Do not sell your OE cats, regulations change daily you may need them to pass yearly inspection...depending on where you live!

Art Pipes aren't raspy at all. There is an odd noise at very low rpm with mine (almost like a rattle or buzz) that a tune almost completely eliminated. I think it was just because it was lean and causing an odd resonance at low rpm.

Here is how mine sounds from outside the car. There is some drone at 2500 rpm but that's from the Tanabe Medalion catback, did that first so I know that's where the drone came from. Art Pipes and the resonated y-pipe reduced it somewhat.
