Wheel paint color

Hi, just got my 06' G35 sedan 6MT a few weeks ago, and I am looking to repaint the rims as there is some curb rash from the previous owner. I have the 18" sport OEM rims and I personally love them, but as I have read there is no color match touch up paint for them so I want to repaint all 4 rims to make them match. I am thinking of either going with hyper silver or a gloss black. Any suggestions on good paints/colors?
Thanks

Hi Mikey'sG, "Welcome to the G35 Driver Forums!" You didn't mention what color your sedan was, which makes a difference in wheel color selection! However, silver will look good since it's close to OE color. That's a great project for a Saturday, done right it will take you most of the day!
Again Mickey'sG, welcome and enjoy the ride...Gary

Hi Gary c my car is liquid platinum metallic. Is there any good paint brands you would suggest? Thanks again, I love the G so far!

Practice on your spare or do just one of the worst wheels before you start spraying all four in case you don't like how it turns out and want to try a different color. You can shoot half your spare with different colors to see how it will turn out etc. There are relatively inexpensive paint kits available at auto stores and amazon/ebay specifically for wheel painting that supposedly can reproduce the hypersilver/gunmetal and other oem finishes but these are complicated paint processes that really can't be done equivalently at home. I used one and wasn't terribly successful but learned alot about rash removal and paint prep along the way. I bought professionally refinished 18s for my summer tires and use my 17s for winter so don't mind the crappy looking paint job.
