Possible Electrical problem or something else!

2004 G35x Sedan (135k miles), factory radio (Bose) installed. Just bought it weekend before last (03 Dec 2017)

Tonight I'm parked with the car off, radio playing waiting for my girl. She got in for a second to get something and run back in. When we were talking, my radio cut off. When she left. The power button wouldn't work, when I would start my car none of the AC/heater controls as well, but was set on Auto around 88 degrees (full blast) At the point, I figure its the console for both as I'm about to upgrade my radio because no one uses CDs and casette tapes anymore and seen the new adapter face needed to change it. But after 2-3 mins of messing around, start off the car, turn off a few times. The radio disk changer started making noises, which I knew it got power back.

I started the car and checked to make sure everything that wasn't working was (which it was) but also noticed the security light was on solid. Didn't think nothing of it at that moment because I was happy the other stuff was working and shut the car down. When to started again and nothing. No power, no lights on the dash, no turn over, not even the keyless entry would lock or unlock. Literally, no power what so ever.

I know nothing about Infiniti's but read online it could be in Lock Mode and to insert the key, turn it to on for 5 seconds, back to off. Repeat 2 more times and it should fix it. But in those topics, they have lights on thru the instruments panel and as well as dome light

The car also had a completely dead battery when I got it from my friend, we jump packed it, I drove it 70 miles home and it hasn't give me any problems since I bought it. Any and all constructive advice is welcomed please!

Please help and thank you in advance!!

Was thinking, couldn't one of the fuses in the fusible link pop?

Of course they can, definitely check it out before you go buy anything. However, if one or more is blown then you have the fun job of finding out why they blew.

:coolio:Yeah, I'm the type that expects the worst and worries too much. I have severe PTSD from military service and it dominates my life. Figured the worst because I just got this car, love it and it was just gonna be a disappointments. But I digress.

Regardless, it's the battery. Threw a jump to it, good to go. Had it tested and It's on the threshold of going bad. Sitting and listening the the radio for an hour caused it to drop. Infiniti dealership said the problems with my center controls were probably due to low voltage. And I also learned that once the battery is at a certain voltage, it won't power anything in the car as too keep enough voltage so as to not damage the starter or anything else. At least that's what was said.

Taking it in next week to let them do a full look over to make sure everything is on the up and up. Thanks to the responses, happy to have some people I can fall back on for answers

Good decision about the full inspection, every once in a while I take my vehicles to their respective dealerships for EXACTLY THAT. Yeah it costs $150 or so but it's a lot more expensive to be stuck in BFE because some random component died that I failed to catch, a peer check from the dealership is worth the money.

Yeah they said $50 for a new key, $50 to program the car to except it. That $50 is also a diagostic so, everything for $100, including 65 point inspection
