03 G35 Sedan 6MT. I swapped a used engine and before I dropped in it, i replaced the RTV and seals on the upper oil pan. I don't believe I removed the dipstick when I reinstalled the oil pan. It's very unlikely that I tighened the oil pan down and the dipstick got pinched in between the mating surfaces. I played around with the knocking motor thats on a stand and the dipstick without the oil pan installed and the only other thing I can assume is that the dipstick didn't go inside the baffle and instead was on the outside edge of the baffle and there isn't enough clearance between the pan wall and the baffle edge to allow the bends of the stick to clear. Ive already broken the handle off the stick and also tried using big set of pliers and grabbed the stick and it will not budge at all. The rubber seal on the stick isn't the issue as its not fully seated due to the stick being bound up. I just replaced the oil with brand new Mobil1 and before I go wasting 5 quarts do you think it's possible to access the lower dipstick through the opening from the lower pan cover? Any suggestions that it could be something else causing the issue that I've overlooked? Thanks in advance.

 

Why are you wasting oil? Drain it I to a clean container and reuse it. I don't know if the dipstick can be seen from the lower pan but since it's so easy to remove and reinstall I would definitely go that route.
