Thanks all! I did manage to get it to turn after soaking the heck out of it with PB Blaster + being patient + breaker bar. Thought that was the end of it.....but Noooooo. The compression rod bushing had seized to the stud that's welded to the frame. And when I say seized, I mean it became one with the stud. Had to cut and cut and cut and cut it. Finally, after basically removing most of the metal pushing, I hammered the crap out of it, and it finally moved enough to remove the whole thing. SUCCESS!!! And then I realized that I damaged the threads on the stud. Great. It looks like I can rethread it with a tap and die set (14mm x 1.50). Any thoughts on that?

Got it Urban, you'd have to buy their $85 kit to get the 14-1.5.

None of the cheaper kits have that large of a size.
