Checking the thickness of brake rotors yourself.. which micrometer to buy?

I got the 2005 g35 rwd and the CLZ31VD dual piston brakes in the front. The rotors are 28mm thick when brand new and all the cheap micrometers I find max out at 25mm and it really sucks. suggestions for a good micrometer that goes past 28mm for under 50$?

Heck eBay for stellar deals but I usually just use a digital one that does up to 6".

Mics are great for measuring small stuff accurately, but for larger stuff, get a a cheap set of calipers: $20 at harbor freight, they can be used for a bunch of stuff (measuring bolt shanks, offsets etc), just don't get them wet! You could also get a nice set of water/coolant proof Mitutoyo calipers, typically use for CNC machinging where coolant ends up everywhere. They'll last forever, but they're also 10x more expensive.

Hop on ebay and find yourself a nice used pair of 6" ot 8" mititoyo digital calipers and call it a day.

I usually end up replacing the rotors anyway. Cheap enough
