Is it worth it?
Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and thought this would be a good place for my question. I found a 2003 G35 with 180k on it. The own said it hasn't run in about three weeks. He said he bought some new parts for it and, according to his mechanic, those parts are all that's need to get it running. I'll put the link to it below. What are your thoughts? Would it be worth it? He is asking $1300 but said he will come down in the price. Any information or help would be appreciated. Thanks all !! Blown head gaskets and an oil pump. You're looking at basically disssembling most of the engine. Probably cheaper and easier to just buy another used engine to drop in it if you aren't proficient at tearing down an engine.

If I was going to change those parts out on a VQ35 I would just pull the engine and hone and re ring it while it's all apart. Might as well fix the oil consumption while it's apart right? I would throw the ITM gaskets in the trash, I will never use ITM again after getting junk lifters from them and rockauto and they would not take them back. Felpro makes a great HG and decent price, or the Nissan OEM part # isn't a bad price either. Not a bad price on the car but I would work the price down for the 20+ hours of labor & parts it will probably need.

It could be a good project for you to work on if you aren't in need of a daily driver or you could just drop in a used engine and not have to worry about rebuilding the old one.
