Pretty much dusted a friend in his Sentra Type R Spec V

I'm not exactly an enthusiast who's up to speed on all relative performance strengths and weaknesses of other makes/models, so I don't know if this is surprising in the slightest, but at a stop light the other night I waxed a buddy in his 2003 Type R Spec V. He was alone in his car and I had 3 full grown men with me.

May not be saying much but he sure took notice. :D

WTF is a Sentra Type R???

bsgoren 03-23-2005 04:50 PM

Yeah, that's not saying much...a 280HP G35 vs. a 175HP (or something like this) 4-banger Sentra (Type R, Spec-V or whatever) POS, but anyhow, have fun and drive safe! :)

wow a Nissan Sentra Type R!!! thats awesome, those cars suck, anyone that would waste money on a sentra TYPE R is a retard

lawboy05 03-23-2005 05:30 PM

I think the Sentra Type-R is a nice little car for that market segment. Clearly, it had no chance against Geaux35's G35, but it is still a nice little car. IMO

doi..what a waste of gas

there is no such thing as a Sentra Type-R

Its called a Sentra SE-R spec V. Not surprising G35 won but I have seen good SE-R drivers with some bolt ons hit similar 1/4 mile times as a G35 Sedan at the track.

I had one of those guys try to race me on the way home late the other night. I didn't gun it till he had already begun, I think it took about 5 seconds before he flashed his lights to surrender before giving me the thumbs up and disappearing in shame.

Turbo is right. With bolt-ons those cars can easily hit low 14's with a good driver. They lack on the torque which mainly kills them, but they do weigh a quite a bit less.

1/4 is for day to day driving. And 1/8 is pretty much light to light. If you get a bad launch it could take a while to catch up to a modded spec v with a good driver and by then the run could be over. Launch and driver is 90% for drags for cars of this calibre. I've been in a lexus es300 and we beat a e46 m3 because the guy simply couldnt drive stick. He bogged the launch bad and couldnt shift. Ya he eventually caught up but took him to over 100mph. Did he win? NO I don't consider that a win!! He looked like a fool in an M3. I was laughing right at the guy at the next light.
