i have questions about AWD, hope some people have the answers for me
i'm wondering how does AWD work ???
i turned on the snow botton during driving, and i feel less torque very obviously
i think it's becacuse the power from 0:100 to 50:50
but i heard that the AWD would changing the front and rear torque
itself depends on road conditions. so it would not be 50:50 all the time.
for example, as turned on the AWD,and start from stop. the torque would be
25:75
and different road conditions will have different ratio
so 50:50 is not always.
is that true??
i'm confused because i thought a AWD car will always have 50:50

I'll let some of the X drivers chime in with details about the AWD
Basicaly it's an intelligent system that looks after itself &
adjusts torque split as needed.

After you find your way arround G35Driver, you'll find tons of info with a search.

AWD is 75:25 (r/f) until about 25 mph and then it is 100 rwd. After 25mph the percentage changes based on the road conditions. Snow mode locks 50/50 and reduces the throttle response so you are less apt to experience any wheel spin.

I have only used snow mode once this year to see what it was like.

Turn off traction control if you want to do more real world driving without the aid of a computer...

just wanna make sure that when snow mode on(awd),after 25mph, it will split torque itself based on road condition is that right??

cuz VDC always comes back on during a slip :(

You should have a button by your left knee that turns off the VDC. If the slip light still comes on maybe the car is just letting you know there is 'slippage' even thought it isn't doing anything about it because the VDC is off.

Congrats and welcome!

I hope you were not driving on dry pavement with the snow button on. The snow button should only be used when there is snow on the ground.

Welcome vvn, have fun with your new ride. As to your AWD, what Xman said^^^^^. Along with that the snow mode button should just be used for slow moving in deep snow or slippery conditions. The snow mode when activated gives 50/50 traction front and rear from a standing stop and kicks out at 12 mph (20 k/hr) and reverts to the AWD system above those speeds as required. I never found I needed snow mode this winter even though my area had lots of snow. With dedicated snow tires it is a wicked snow machine :D .

g35x is still AWD but will adjust itself?? is that right
and when snow mode is on, it's AWD too but only 50:50

I never had it in snow mode for more than about 1/8 of a mile... I was under the impression that it just adjusts the sensitivity of the throttle to reduce wheel spin and keep a 50/50 split between the fronts and rears. I wondered if I could switch it into snow mode at any speed. I have not found any documentation on that. As for reverting back to regular mode abover 25-30 I have not tried that nor did I think that it did that...
