Anybody know why?

It's not supposed to. Check the manual for the details but it stays on and when the revs reach a certain point it turns red. Like I said, check the manual for the details. :)

Well... I've seen the upshift indicator... but I remember test driving a 6mt coupe and it only came on when I was in REVerse?

Hmm...

Any other 6MT owners care to chime in?

Don't know. We drove a coupe to try out the 6MT (dealer didn't have a sedan) and that is when they told us why it was on all the time. That's why I don't remember the details - been too long. LOL! We have a 6MT sedan as well as my car and it stays on all the time. I know you can set the RPM that makes it turn red but I don't know what the default setting is or how to change it. It's in the manual though. Can't check ours until tomorrow evening but if you don't see it let me know and I will look. :)

Someone else chim in here that has their manual handy.... come on, I know your out there too.

Quite alright. :) Just glad you found an answer. Hope I didn't seem short - I was really busy when I sent the first post. I was gonna wait but no one had responded and I knew part of the answer at least. Take care!

The 'Rev' is always lit, but you can adjust the RPM that the shift light below it comes on at by playing with the trip reset...

Is the rev light something that's new for '05? I don't recall ever seeing it on my '03.5 or '04 and I've hit the rev limiter a couple of times.

Yes it is. You adjust it by using the odometer toggle switch.
