Does anyone's driver door not stay open?
For my driver's door only, it refuses to stay open between the 1st "notch" and the wide open position. It stays open at the notches, but once I close it a little from the wide open position, it wants to swing close. Is this normal? Thanks

lol - I just noticed my door doing this 2 days ago. I thought about starting a thread but thought I would be the only one. It's very annoying since in most parking situations, you cannot open full wide and the first notch is a bit tight. By the time you stick a leg out the door is coming back to hit you.

+1 Same here

Same here, real pain in the a$$. Passanger doing it also not as bad. I figure I just need to get in better shape to get my butt out of the seat quicker before the door swings back.

I think you will find this in most cars, it can be annoying, but I would bet the coupe is worse with those big heavy doors.

Check Link is what is called
The devise with the notches on it are called check links. They are designed to keep the door open at certain points. If the door is between the "notches" it is designed to go the closed position. The right and left check links are the same...they just flip them over when going to the left or right sides of the car. You can modify them if you are careful with a file. I put a intermediate stop in mine. The black grooved arm is a plastic over molded metal arm. There is a rubber bushing inside the door that puts pressure on the arm to keep it in place.

That has driven me crazy since day one!

My 03 does it too. I blame it on the notch and also on the fact that the chassis mounting point on the body actually flexes quite a bit (very noticeable with a black G). That flex when the door swings open fully gives enough "pull back" force to make the door comes back past the notch.

Same problem here.

Thx for the replies! Saved me from making myself a fool at the dealer.
