How's this Craftsman floor jack and jack stand?

Just saw this deal on the web. It's craftsman. Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post it. I've thought about getting something like this for myself and was just wondering if the 2 1/4 ton is good enough for our G?

Look how short the arm is. You won't really be able to get car up very high

I've never owned a floor/jack stand before. Just wanted to get one so I can do tire rotations or some miscellenous easy things. Not going under the car to do any mods. Knowing my luck the car will probably slam on me and kill me. :D

Works great. I've had mine for years and love it. Gets the car high enough to change the oil, change out wheels or anything else I need.

Plus it's light enough to put in the trunk without throwing my back out! I use it at the track all the time.

Those are CRAP! I had one and it leaked, 3 buddies had it and it did the same thing. Harbor Freight stuff in general is crap.

Well Ive had mine for about a year and put it through hell. No problems. My buddy also owns a wheel shop and has one. He doesnt have any problems also. If you go in the store they offer a replacement waranty for two years for about 3.00. Its a hell of a deal. Trust me I work on stuff like I own a shop and the Harbor freight stuff Ive used works fine.

NickS, you have the same exact model? supports 2 1/4 ton?

Those Sears jacks are so affordable, I have 2 of them to do tire rotations. No problems to date, and I've had them for about 1 year. They're good enough in my opinion.

Oh yeah, I also use the jackstand adapters with them. this way, I won't bend the little piece of metal near the jack point. I bought my adapters at:

I have the same one. I've used it on my 911, G35, friends 350Z, NUMEROUS cars at the track. No issues at all.

That being said I have never but 4k+lbs on it.

Cool, maybe I'll pick one up tommorrow at Sears since it's so cheap. Is it safe to jack it up on that metal thingy or like what lelg35 said to get the adapter and jack it up on that "round thing" under the suspensions?

Just curious, let's say I want to do tire rotation (rotate left driver with left rear passenger). What's the right procedure to do it? Do you use floor jack and jack up the whole side and put it on jack stands and then rotate? Should you loosen the lug nuts first? Also, is it safe to tigthen the wheels while it's on jacks? Sorry for some newbie questions.

Just want to do it right so I don't get kill. :D
